On 26 October 2024, legislation came into force placing new responsibilities on employers to take a proactive approach to identifying and preventing incidents of sexual harassment in the workplace.

Employers now have a legal duty to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment and create a safe working environment.

Who is this course for?
This half-day course is designed to present an overview of the new legislation and the steps an employer now must take. It is suitable for managers and employees.

To provide general fire safety and awareness training and to cover subjects which are specific to the duties of a fire warden in order to equip them to carry out their duties effectively and safely, both in a fire and non-fire emergency role.

Due to the length of this course, there is sufficient time for a practical element of the course to be staged, which will enable all delegates not only to identify and select the correct fire extinguishers, but also to use them on an individual basis under the supervision of our trainer. Protective gloves and glasses will be provided, and delegates will only be asked to do this if they wish to.

Who this Course is for?
This Level 2 course, regulated by Ofqual, is ideal for staff who may, as part of company fire procedures, have additional responsibilities for fire safety in the workplace, or simply wish to increase their knowledge of general fire safety procedures.

In accordance with the Approved Code of Practice to the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, employers are “strongly recommended” to consider the need for emergency first aid training for appointed persons within their organisation.

Who is this course for?
This QA Level 3 Award course is suitable for most low-risk employers in meeting their legal obligations for minimum first aid provision in the workplace. It is also suitable for employers with a higher risk who wish to provide appointed persons to support their First Aiders. Upon completion attendees will be issued with a certificate which is valid for 3 years.

Course Content
On completion of training, successful candidates should be able to:
• Understand the role and responsibilities of the first aider; including the use of equipment, recording incidents and actions, and the importance of infection control
• Assessing an incident
• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation
• The recovery position
• Choking and care of airway
• Care of the unconscious person
• Dealing with shock
• Dealing with seizures
• Control of bleeding
• Treatment of minor injuries including burns, scalds, cut, grazes, and bruising

Cost Includes
• Lunch and refreshments
• A certificate for each delegate on completion of the course
• All course materials

Who should attend this course?
As a minimum, a low-risk workplace such as a small office should have a first-aid box and a person appointed to take charge of first-aid arrangements, such as calling the emergency services if necessary. Employers must provide information about first-aid arrangements to their employees.

Workplaces where there are more significant health and safety risks are more likely to need a trained first-aider.
